I finally got to play 18 holes at Marrickville, Sydney. A hot afternoon, but I managed 18 holes in 2.5 hours. The club played like a dream - the greens are in poor condition, the course par is 60 and my handicap for the course is 18 yet I managed a score of 73 with 6 pars and one birdie, my best round ever - all with one club!
I usually have to compensate for a slice, but with the Q I don't need to, the ball mostly travelled straight. I can drive the ball approx. 230m with my driver (I'm 60), but found that I could hit the Stinger setting about 180m off the tee, luckily the longest hole is only 328m so easy to hit the green in 2 shots. I even managed to hole some long putts despite the poor green conditions.
I'm looking forward to playing in the Vets Comp on Thursday with just the Q, I'd better not do too well or they'll ban it!...
